Konservasi Untuk Semua

A Glimpse of Kubu Konservasi FNPF

We kicked off the process of our social enterprise project that was built by our staff, the local people of Nusa Penida, and international volunteers on September 2014.

The journey to realize the dream to build our own Nusa Penida community centre – Kubu Konservasi FNPF – has been both humbling and very exciting. We now own the land which is the home of this beautiful conservation and sustainability village. Kubu Konservasi FNPF will be the new headquarters of the Bali Bird Sanctuary and the Nusa Penida conservation and community development program. It will play host to the scores of volunteers who come and work alongside the local staff to reforest the island, pertanian organik, herbal gardening, beach cleaning, bird observation, teaching English to children, and developing the community on Nusa Penida island.

Kubu Konservasi FNPF is located on the slopes of a forested woodland valley, behind Ped temple on Nusa Penida Island’s north coast, where the local people of Nusa Penida worked together help us create this masterpiece of FNPF. They built the road to Kubu Konservasi using their own hand, carving the hillside without heavy machinery, and they were led by Pak Kentung, a local hero of Nusa Penida, who donated his time and expertise for free. Equipped with dining and cooking facilities, meditation room, and a spacious activity space where you can do yoga or finish your current read. It has a total capacity for 20 volunteers in one stay; there are eight single dormitories and six twin rooms. Kubu Konservasi FNPF is guaranteed to give you one of the best experiences in your life. The opening ceremony of Kubu Konservasi FNPF will mark a milestone of how far Friends of the National Parks Foundations have come. All the things we mentioned before and all the things we have achieved would not have happened without the ongoing and generous support from our dearest and valuable supporters and volunteers. We would like to dedicate this post to them with our deepest gratitude.
