Atuh beach, Nusa Penida, Juli 18, 2013 – “If we don’t care about our planet, we don’t care about ourselves,"Kata Friends of the donor Taman Nasional Foundation dan pendukung Douglas Herst, at the opening of our new turtle guard post on Nusa Penida island.
The Seacology board director, who is based in Berkeley US, came to Bali recently to attend the dedication ceremony for a turtle guard post at Atuh Beach, in Pelilit village.This project arose after villagers spotted turtles, which are endangered, landing on their beach, terutama setiap bulan purnama. FNPF, sebuah konservasi di Indonesia tidak-untuk organisasi nirlaba, membangun pos jaga, dengan dana dari Seacology, and dedicated it to the village so they could help monitor turtle activities.
FNPF will visit the post every full moon to observe and research turtle movements in the local area. Along with protecting the sea turtle, we want to build awareness among the community about the environment and to encourage them to preserve this endangered species.

If anyone from these villages sees any turtle eggs, we would really appreciate if they could let FNPF know,” says Dr Bayu Wirayudha, FNPF’s Founder and Director. “We will collect any eggs and take them to our hatchery in the village of Ped. When the eggs are ready to hatch we will return them to Atuh Beach.”
Mr Herst, during his speech to the village leaders and the community at the opening on 20 Juni, thanked people for protecting the turtle eggs. “The health of the turtles represent the health of humankind, dan fakta bahwa Anda melindungi penyu di sini sangat penting bagi anak-anak kita dan generasi berikutnya.
