We Have a New Hawk Eagle in BWRC

One Changeable Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus cirrhatus) arrived at our Bali Wildlife Rescue Centre (BWRC). The bird was confiscated by Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA) on August. According to Dr. Rini, the bird arrived in a good condition. It still has its wild instinct and able to hunt properly. Cependant, it lost several of its tail feathers which makes it difficult for it to fly. Dr. Rini said, we just need to wait until the bird has all of its feathers before releasing it back to the wild.

In Indonesia it is called Elang Brontok and can be found in Sumatra, Borneo, Java, and Bali.

Our deepest gratitude goes to Humane Society International of Australia whose constant support has been helping us to run the facility.

We also want to say thank you to BKSDA for their tireless effort in confiscating wild animals and giving them to us.

It lost most of it tail feathers.

Dr. Rini believes the rehabilitating process will be easy.
