Jerumbun forest is on fire

Jerumbun forest fire threatens wildlife habitat

Multiple wildfire hotspots have been emerging around Jerumbun since September 3. On the night of September 13, the flames crossed the last defense line and entered FNPF’s conservation forest in Central Kalimantan.

FNPF staff are working alongside local communities and NGO partners to contain the Jerumbun forest fire before it spreads deeper into vital wildlife habitat. Thick smoke, difficult terrain and long shifts make protective equipment and medical supplies essential.
